We keep it minimal. When you text Corduroy, we collect your mobile phone number and the messages you send and receive with us (your message history). If you choose to share them, we collect your name and email address. To answer your questions we also handle general context like the mountain or area you ask about. Our website may collect basic, standard analytics such as which pages are visited.
We use this information to reply to you, to send you conditions updates and occasional proactive messages (unless you opt out), to understand and improve the quality of Corduroy's answers, and to operate, secure, and support the service. If you give us your email, we may use it to reach you about your account or the pilot.
We do not sell your phone number, your messages, or your questions, and we do not share them for anyone else's advertising. The weather and snow data we use to answer you comes from public sources, such as the National Weather Service and measured snow reports. Anything we build with resort camera data is aggregate and operational, about conditions on the mountain, not about identifying individual skiers.
We share information only with the service providers that help us run Corduroy, such as our messaging, hosting, and AI providers that process your messages to generate replies, and only so they can perform those services for us. We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users, the public, or Corduroy Systems, LLC.
We keep your information for as long as we operate Corduroy and need it to provide and improve the service, and as required by law. You can ask us to delete your information, and we will do so unless we are required to keep it.
You are in control of the messages you get: reply STOP at any time to stop receiving texts, and reply HELP for help. To ask what we hold about you, or to correct or delete it, email admin@skicorduroy.com. See our SMS opt-in page for how the messaging program works.
Corduroy is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has texted us, contact us and we will delete the information.
